Trained at the Culinary Institute of America, chef Steve Christianson is a veteran of the FoCitrus Grille Steve Christiansonur Seasons in Manhattan and Café Panache in Ramsey; he ventured out on his own 15 years ago.  Citrus Grille's contemporary American menu is seasonal; during the warmer moths, he takes advantage of the Jersey-fresh produce available at local farmers markets.
Christianson, of Montvale, says that while he is very informal - Chef Revival's signature tunic jacket is a casual favorite - he is quite old fashioned in terms of style.  "I'm not into trendy, patterned pants.  I prefer the traditional black-and-white checks." 201 Magazine, March 2007

Citrus Grille has a well-deserved reputation for being one of the very best restaurants in our area...or anywhere else! It's an easy drive as Citrus Grille is located a half mile over the NJ border in Rockland County New York. This gem is highly rated in Zagats, has seasonal menus, private party facilities, and on-premise catering. If you haven't experienced the dining pleasures at Citrus Grille, you're in for an experience that will make Citrus Grille your favorite restaurant.

Chef/Owner Steve Christianson's passion for cooking was first sparked in his mother's kitchen, where he helped her bake her aromatic banana bread. He left Boston, headed for New York and the Culinary Institute of America, and an inspiring apprenticeship at the Four Seasons, in Manhattan, laid the foundation for his ultimate goal of owning his own restaurant. After a stint at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia, and some long term chef positions at New York, New York and the Lion's Rock, both in Manhattan, he accepted an offer to share a partnership in a new restaurant, Café Panache in Ramsey, New Jersey.

In 1993 Steve and his wife, Judi, opened their own restaurant in the lower Hudson Valley to raving  Four Star reviews. Citrus Grille was born as a casual contemporary respite amid a pretty rural backdrop in Airmont, New York. The name Citrus Grille reflects the light tropical colors of the walls and artworks, incorporated with the fresh, innovative cuisine, void of cream and heavy classical sauces. Patrons have been following Steve since his days at the Lions Rock, in the early 1980's where he created his now famous signature dish, Chicken Pecan. Citrus Grille has enjoyed entertaining patrons from New Jersey, Westchester and upstate New York for fifteen years now.  The restaurant continues to thrive, innovate and reinvent while remaining pleasing to all the senses.
